Today's Eats

This is a page where I'll maintain some notes about what the kids are eating for others who want to experiment with an elimination diet for their kids.

I'm way behind, here are some photos. I'll try and caption later.

More lunches:

Thursday, March 21, 2013

This is gf crackers, cheddar, salami (I know, salami is hardly health food. But it's organic salami, does that help?) cooked carrots - woe to the fool that tries to serve my children raw carrots, they won't eat them. But cooked carrots, which I think are totally gross, they'll eat in huge quantities - and unsweetened applesauce.

Ha? how long did you think I could keep up the daily posting? What was today, Wednesday?

This was what I sent today. Lunch was yogurt and frozen berries with gluten-free, honey sweetened granola and apple on the sides. snacks were larabars, cheese sticks and cucumber sticks.

I didn't take a picture, but Monday I sent hamburgers on GF buns (leftover from dinner the night before) with sides of broccoli, green peas and pear slices. That went over VERY well.

Friday March 15

almond butter and raw honey sandwich on gluten free bread. cherry tomatoes and snap peas. bananas and nature's promise veggie sticks for snack.

Thursday March 14

green grapes, sliced cucumber, applegate turkey and munster on gluten free bread, yellow pepper strips. Whole fruits for both snacks

Wednesday, March 13

'
Hummus with snap peas, cherry tomatoes and baby carrots for dipping, an apple-cinnamon muffin from Elana Amsterdam's almond flour cookbook, and a few dried apricots.

Monday & Tuesday March 11 and 12

This is yellow peppers, celery sticks, and baby carrots with hummus for dipping and a cheese stick and 2 slices of applegate turkey

This one is sliced salami, rice crackers and cheddar with cherry tomatoes and snap peas

Friday, March 8 2013

This is grapefruit (my kids love grapefruit, which I think is weird. I didn't develop a taste for it until I was an adult), pineapple, 2 slices of applegate turkey, cheese stick, mixed nuts and cooked carrots. For snack I tried a new recipe: apple cinnamon muffins from elana amsterdam's almond flour cookbook. They smell lovely.

Thursday, March 7 2013

This is fresh pineapple, raisins and peanuts mixed together (thank goodness their schools are not nut free), cherry tomatoes, baby carrots and cheddar cheese blocks. the yogurt with blueberries is for snack. In the afternoon they are making popcorn on the stove at school, so I don't have to send an afternoon snack.

Wednesday, March 6 2013

For lunch there was some applegate farms ham, a cheese stick, some apple slices, avocado, a few dried apricots, and snap peas. for snacks, gluten and refined sugar free pumpkin muffins, dried snap peas, and pears.

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

cucumbers, raspberries, ants on a log, pears, a refined sugar and gluten free pumpkin muffin. Not sure what I sent for snacks this day.
