It's about time you started pulling your weight around here

Here's Owen, finally doing something useful. At least, I assume he's doing something useful. That's what Andy spends most of his time doing, and somehow the bills keep getting paid. I love the expression on his face in this shot: it's SO clear I am interrupting some serious business.

In other news, we're pretty good with sitting up now. It's not sustainable for long periods of time or anything, but we can reliably set Owen in an upright position and he can maintain it for a minute or three. check it:

Lastly, if there were ever any doubt that this this child was my husband's*, I challenge you to look at this photo and NOT say that my son is the spitting image of one Andrew J. Cox. Behold:

*Not that there ever was any. Or that there was any reason to have any. Or that I meant to give you some. Gah, I'm incriminating myself.

Owen gets baptized, sits in funny chair:

We had a busy, busy weekend, during which we had Owen's baptism. It turned out to be a really nice day, and we sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to come and also who helped us celebrate. There are approximately a kajillion baptism photos now, with every permutation of Owen and immediate/extended family members possible, so I thought I'd just put up one of the actual happenin':

I'll throw in this one b/c it's relatively flattering of me. No one will ever accuse me of NOT being vain.

Now this, you see: this was at the after-baptism party, when the baby had kicked off his white duds and got his party clothes on, and was presented with the following thoughtful gift from my Aunt Suzy:

the above chair with attached umbrella is PRECISELY the sort of thing that I swore up, down and sideways that when I was a parent, we would not have. It's plastic, it's totally impractical, it's got a useful life of approximately six months, and it's even personalized, lowering it's utility for subsequent (or unrelated) children. But it WAS a gift, and he's so damn cute in the chair....resistence is futile. I should just accept it now.

We are in agreement

on the terms of the house. I don't know how to put photos from snapfish on the blog yet, so you can see the house here:

now as long as everything goes smoothly getting the mortgage, we're going to be homeowners. Yikes.

Mama's lil sweet potato.

We had our first try with solid foods today: still not sure who won.

in other news, we're not through negotiating for the house yet. We'll let you know. I am on pins and needles for sure.

In the beginning.

Everyone's got a personal website these days, so why not us? Hi, we're the Cox family. We're a pretty new family, as families go. The baby up there is Owen. He's about 4 1/2 months old today and he's a lot of fun. There are a fair number of people far and wide who care very little about what Andy and I are up to, but care a great deal about seeing the latest pictures of him...so this website was created to make that easier. If you're one of those people, enjoy - and come back frequently.
